T.I.T.S BRAND (Two In The Shirt) Interview
Marek Grubel
The Boy Hollywood
CHAMP MAGAZINE

CHAMP: What's poppin Mark? How's everything going at Camp T.I.T.S at the moment?

T.I.T.S: Shit is poppn at the moment, just got back from Barcelona and the Bread and Butter tradeshow

CHAMP: Now the name is definitely an eye catcher. Did you ever think you wouldn't be taken serious if with the name?

T.I.T.S: No one took it serious for the first year or so, until the people that took a chance on us. Took a look at their sell through and saw that the product moves!!!!

CHAMP: Now how long have you guys been making apparel, and what was the initial vision when you first started out?

T.I.T.S: We Launched in August of 06'.  The initial vision was to put provocative nudes on shirts, which is what we did and what we continue to do.

CHAMP: Where are you guys based?

T.I.T.S: We are based out of Seattle, west coast!!!

CHAMP: Now you got the concept going with nude women. Any huge criticism you ever faced with that and has it ever been difficult to get the product in stores because of the images displayed on clothing?

T.I.T.S: Every so often we will get an email about the nature of the shirt, but other then that, the hype has been built, and like I said, the sales numbers speak for themselves

CHAMP: Now what's the "Show Me Your T.I.T.S" recruiting station all about?

T.I.T.S: Basically, the name of the brand is TITS, and naturally we needed a tee that says show me your tits, but we needed a good concept so it wasn’t corny or sleazy, so we reached out to good old uncle Sam and he came through for us!!!

CHAMP: Now the models you got on the site posing in the gear. Are they part of the team or just models?

T.I.T.S: All the models we use are either someone we know, or someone our photographer knows

CHAMP: I'm really digging the “The Wifey Tee” with baby girl ironing with the 40 in her mouth, but what would be your favorite Tee you guys made so far?

T.I.T.S: “Wifey” is our strongest selling series by far, but I can’t really pinpoint my favorite shirt, I really like a shirt coming out for s/s called Ravenous...stay tuned for that!!!

CHAMP: You guys also have distribution in Japan, Hong Kong, and Korea. Is there an exclusive spot in Toronto or in Canada?

T.I.T.S: We had a few spots in Toronto but they fizzled out.  We have trouble with Canadian distro, not sure why, so if you are reading this, we need a gooood Canadian distro agent!!!

CHAMP: There are a lot of brand new and underground clothing companies. Who are you guys feeling at the moment?

T.I.T.S: No one, all the new companies I am seeing are 'cookie cutter' brands.  But if I had to choose, I really like this brand called Lira, really nice products from them.

CHAMP: With T.I.T.S Are a lot of your pieces made in house or do you get stuff done overseas?

T.I.T.S: Everything is made in Seattle, except for our beach towel series

CHAMP: Do you ever feel the games oversaturated with wanna-be clothing lines that just buy a heat transfer machine and make a few tees and call themselves clothing companies?

T.I.T.S: There is a difference between a clothing brand and a t-shirt company, a brand has an image and a lifestyle attached to it...t-shirt brand has just that...teeeeees

CHAMP: What type of equipment for all my designers could we catch you guys working with a lot?

T.I.T.S: Photo shop and AI

CHAMP: Have you ever seen any artists/celebs rockin' your gear? And what was your reaction?

T.I.T.S: 50 cent and G-Unit rocks it a lot, and the Wifey was recently spotted in the Keri Hilson video (Turnin’ Me On). I always get hyped when we see our product on tv!!

CHAMP: what else do we got next for T.I.T.S?

T.I.T.S: We have our beach towel coming out in spring summer and we have a lot of accessories that we will be producing!!
